Welcome to the Boxer Friends, Inc. web site.
Updated 7/26/10
Meet Emily:
Emily was rescued from Miami Dade Animal Services. She is a sweet Boxer girl who is now receiving the vet care she lacked in her former life. We will know more in the coming days what is causing her skin condition and more about her personality.
Once she is cleared by the vet to go home, she will need a home to go to! Will it be yours? Please complete our online foster/adoption application and a volunteer will contact you very soon.
Her condition, as you might imagine, will be costly to treat. If you would like to help with Emily's vet bills, please use this link to help sponsor her:
UPDATE:
Emily is looking and feeling much better! She has been at the vet's office receiving care and she's in antibiotics. Her blood work is normal, she is heartworm negative, and her skin scraping is negative for mange. The vet feels that Emily being on antibiotics, eating good nutritional food, a bath with soothing shampoo and time her skin will clear up with nothing else needed. In the meantime, her fur is still coming out in clumps because she has to shed all the dead "stuff" before it can be replaced with new.
We'd like to thank everyone who has donated to her care, and Emily thanks you, too. Without your help, she might not have had a second chance at a happy, healthy life!

Boxer Friends, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit Florida charitable organization, devoted to helping Boxers in need in the south Florida area. We focus on the needy Boxer dogs in Broward and south Palm Beach counties, but are not limited to these areas, as resources allow. We rescue Boxers from shelters in south Florida before they are euthanized, and help displaced Boxers find new, loving, appropriate homes.
If you would like to help us continue to help the Boxers, please make a check payable to Boxer Friends Inc. and mail to the address on the left side of this page, or use this link to make an online donation through Pay Pal, a secure server:

Please note that we are not a source for puppies; puppies rarely need the help of a rescue group for placement. Please also do not ask us to recommend a breeder, for we just do not know any reputable ones in our area who complete the necessary pre-breeding fitness tests both males and females must undergo to ensure a quality litter of puppies. We also cannot recommend a store from which to purchase a healthy Boxer puppy, for the same reasons.
That said, we can help you adopt a Boxer who will give you wonderful companionship and unconditional love. All dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested for heartworms, and given a physical exam by one of our veterinarians.
Boxer Friends, Inc. (CH-12004) is registered with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services , and complies with the Florida Solicitation of Contributions Act. It has come to our attention that there is another south Florida Boxer rescue group claiming they have changed their name from Boxer Friends, Inc. We would like to take this opportunity to make it known that Boxer Friends, Inc. has not undergone a change of name since our establishment in 2000.
